Cayman’s cell-based Oxygen Consumption Rate (OCR) Assay Kit utilizes the Phosphorescent Oxygen Probe to measure OCRs in live cells. The Phosphorescent Oxygen Probe functions best in samples containing oxygen concentrations from 0-21%. Antimycin A, an inhibitor of the mitochondrial electron transport chain, is included for use as a control for zero oxygen consumption (low signal). Glucose oxidase is also included for use as a reference for oxygen depletion (high signal).
